Touch-Typing Tutors

Azabat offers two different touch-typing tutors - a beginners version and an advanced version - which are available separately or bundled together. Multi-users packs are also available for site licensing.

The beginners version is designed for people starting from scratch, with little or no experience of using a keyboard. It consists of 7 lessons (letter drills) and 7 exercises (word drills), starting with the letters A,S,D and F and building up to using all the letter and number keys. Each lesson has a corresponding exercise in which you practice by typing words based on the letters you have learned so far.

The advanced version is designed for people with some typing experience and covers a lot more ground. There are 5 sections to this programme. Section 1 covers the letter keys, section 2 covers capitals and punctuation, section 3 covers shortcuts and navigation keys, section 4 is an introduction to typing in Braille (grade 1) and section 5 has a collection of spelling tests.

There is also a bundled version, called the Azabat Typing-Tutor Collection, which simply contains one disk of each version and costs £50.

Talking Word-Processor

Azabat Write is a talking text-editor, which enables you to create documents quickly and easily, automatically magnifying and reading the screen as you type. It also features an address book and diary, and is bundled with Sarah, an english-accented voice from CereProc Ltd. Ready to run from the CD - no installation required.

Upgrade: 2Gb USB Pen Drive

Carry your documents with you and access them from virtually any PC. The programme autoruns from the Pen Drive (very clever!). You must already have a licence for Azabat Write to use it.

Computer Games

Azabat Software offers 7 different volumes of games for all ages, plus one volume specifically aimed at young children. Each volume comes on a CD and contains between 4 and 6 games. All the games have speech, as well as a graphical display, and contain full instructions.

The speech files are built in to the software, so there is nothing to install - just insert the CD and let the games begin!

Talking Crosswords

Azabat Software offers 3 different volumes of Talking Crosswords. Each volume contains 70 crossword puzzles and costs £20. Contact us for a free demo CD if you'd like to try before you buy.

They are all self-voiced, with nothing to install, and they run from the CD. They are suitable for blind and partially-sighted people as well as people who struggle to operate a mouse.

Volume 1 contains 70 crossword puzzles, set by Shaun Auty of SW Retail

Volume 2 contains 70 crossword puzzles, licensed from a national UK newspaper. I'm not allowed to say which one, but I am obliged to say that the puzzles are copyright Guardian News and Media Ltd.

Volume 3 contains 70 crossword puzzles, licensed from The Daily Telegraph.
